Logmein is an invaluable solution that allows for remote control, file sharing, systems management, data backup, business collaboration and on-demand customer support of PCs, servers, Macintosh computers, smartphones and other connected devices. I have found it incredibly useful when needing to connect to and manage pcs and backup solutions. In order to start using logmein head over using the link and create an account. Once logged in you can add computers using the link supplied. Access to that computer can then be obtained by logging in to logmein and selecting that computer. It really is very simple and straightforward.
It also has a iPhone app. I bought a copy of it but found it awkward to use at first so here are some tips.
The biggest difficulty is getting used to the mouse. Default usage has the pointer staying still in the middle of the screen. What you do then is to move the screen underneath it until the mouse is over the icon you want and then double click. This sends the command to the computer and the item opens. If you don’t like this you can change to a different and normal behaviour.
The iPhone’s pinch techniques work as does rotating the screen. You get a virtual keyboard for controlling Ctrl, Alt, arrow keys, etc.
Either way, the remote desktop world got much more accessible with logmein and now with the iPhone app we get an even more useful tool in the iPhone.
